Our 8 inch plant pot comes with a drainage hole, because it allows excess water and moisture to drain from the soil out the bottom of the pot.

This helps prevent water from pooling at the bottom of the pot, which can cause overwatering, and issues like root rot, or other fungal diseases that will harm your indoor plants.

When purchasing our 8 inch plant pot, you have the option of receiving it with or without a saucer.

By default, we designed each planter pot with saucer based drainage, to minimize any chance of water pooling at the bottom of the pot, and make it easier to empty.

However, since the pot has a drainage hole and plug, you can put the nursery pot directly into the planter.

A lot of patience is required at the start of learning how to take care of your house plant.

Each individual plant is slightly different in their requirements, but a good start is to learn what its watering requirements are, and what its light requirements are.

While every plant has its own set of care parameters, lower maintenance plants can include: Snake plant, Spider plant, Pothos plant, ZZ plant and Palms.

When in doubt, find out what will be easiest for you. If you frequently forget to water plants, but keep your house at a consistent temperature, and have a window with a lot of sunlight, your low maintenance plant selection will be different than if you don’t have large windows, and you need something pet-friendly.

Take your indoor plant out of its pot. If it is in a ceramic or terracotta planter, you can simply place it into an appropriately sized pot and place it in your space.

If there is no separation between the soil and the pot, carefully remove the plant and the soil from the pot by the base of the stem at the strongest part of the plant.

After you have removed the soil from the pot, assess if it is the proper soil, and determine the root health.

If there is a weird, rotting smell from your roots, you will need to wash away the remaining soil from the roots, trim the infected roots, and repot completely.

Once you place the plant in its new pot, with new soil, wait to water it for a few days until the roots have taken a proper hold, to ensure it has the best chance to adapt to the new potting.
